The University of Louisville Saddle Seat Equestrian Team is a member of the Intercollegiate Saddle Seat Riding Association (ISSRA), and an affiliate of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF).
Coached by Deveau Zubrod Kreitzer, the Saddle Seat Team provides college students with an opportunity to continue riding Saddle Seat throughout their university career and to bring new riders the experience of competition on a collegiate level - with no horse required!
Local competitors include: Morehead State University, University of Kentucky, Western Kentucky University, Eastern Kentucky University, Bellarmine University, and Northern Kentucky University.

The Saddle Seat Team is open to University of Louisville students of all majors. The team is co-ed and welcomes riders of all skill level - even if you've never ridden a horse before!

Coach
The Saddle Seat Team is coached by Deveau Zubrod Kreitzer. Deveau graduated cum laude from Ohio University in 2005 with a bachelor of science in Journalism.
She has competed in international competition twice, with the US Saddle Seat World Cup team. In 2000 she and her teammates took home the silver medal, and in 2006 as captain of the three-gaited team, she brought home the gold, from Parys, South Africa.
Competition
Within ISSRA competition, each rider shows in an equitation rail class and a pattern class. Riders compete on the American Saddlebred, Morgan, Arabian, National Show Horse and other trotting breeds of horses traditionally shown in Saddle Seat classes.
Individual riders draw a horse for each class entered, and have minimal warm-up. Riders accumulate both team and individual points.
Awards consist of a High Point Team, a Reserve High Point Team, High Point Rider and Reserve High Point Rider based on accumulated points.
